LS Car Meet • Drift
Drift Races
A permanent guide to 1–8-player Drift Races. It explains the Drift Tuning-compatible car requirement, score and combo building, and keeps mechanics separate from any current event multiplier.

Drift Races
Buy LS Car Meet membership, prepare a Drift Tuning-compatible car and choose Drift Races under Rockstar Created/the Meet series.
The mode supports 1–8 players. A compatible car with Drift Tuning is required; this guide does not publish an officially unconfirmed conversion price.
If the car is absent from selection, check model compatibility and that Drift Tuning is actually installed. If the Job is missing, check the permanent Rockstar Created list rather than only the event tile.

First completion, step by step
01 Confirm the car
- ACTION
- Before the lobby, confirm the selected model has active Drift Tuning rather than only normal handling upgrades.
- TIP
- Choose a predictable rather than the twitchiest car for the first run.
- RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
- An incompatible model will not pass the selection stage correctly.
- HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
- Return to the LS Car Meet to check the conversion or use another compatible car.
02 Check course and rules
- ACTION
- Read lap count, contact and class; the result is based on drift score rather than only finish order.
- TIP
- Reduce player contact while learning.
- RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
- A collision breaks line and combo even at good pace.
- HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
- After contact, settle the car and start a new clean chain rather than trying to save the old combo.
03 Initiate the drift
- ACTION
- Set speed before the corner, initiate rotation and control angle with throttle and counter-steer.
- TIP
- A smaller stable angle gives a better combo foundation than one excessive rotation.
- RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
- Too much angle ends in a spin or impact.
- HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
- Lift, straighten the car and rebuild score from the next safe corner.
04 Build the combo
- ACTION
- Link scoring zones without fully straightening or hitting obstacles while still registering checkpoints.
- TIP
- Planning corner exit matters more than maximum entry angle.
- RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
- A missed checkpoint or spin wipes out the practical gain from the chain.
- HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
- Registering the gate comes first; end the drift and return if the line misses it.
05 Secure the score
- ACTION
- Near the end, do not risk the entire chain on one corner; register the finish and result screen.
- TIP
- A few clean final points beat spinning before the finish.
- RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
- Leaving before settlement does not confirm the full Job.
- HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
- Wait for the result, then dedicate the next run to one difficult sector.
02 • Variants and mechanics
Variants and mechanics
Score and angle
1–8A Drift Race in a compatible car.
- OBJECTIVE
- Score through controlled slides.
- MECHANIC
- Speed, angle and duration must remain controlled.
- COMPLETION
- Finish after the complete scored course.
- HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
- After a spin, rebuild a stable line from the next zone.
Combo
1–8Linking consecutive scoring sections.
- OBJECTIVE
- Maintain the chain without contact or fully straightening.
- MECHANIC
- Clean continuity beats one spectacular corner.
- COMPLETION
- A secured chain before the finish.
- HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
- When the line is lost, end the combo deliberately and set up a new chain.
03 • Real roles / Strategies
Real roles i Strategies
Host
Sets contact and length and must not present a weekly multiplier as a permanent rate.
Drift driver
Individually owns angle, combo, checkpoints and finish; the mode needs no artificial team roles.
Start with smaller angles, earlier braking and clean single corners. Build combos only after mastering checkpoints.
Design transitions between corners, manage angle with throttle and deliberately bank a chain before a section that cannot be linked cleanly.
04 • Reward and economic status
Informational — no universal base rate
Cash and RP depend on the result and Job configuration. Rockstar does not publish one current base table, so this activity is informational rather than rankable.
Observed range specific to this activity; variant, result, duration or completion condition selects the value within it. Event multipliers are excluded.
C • community-reportedThe formula and roles apply to the stated settlement unit; event multipliers are excluded.

Common mistakes and recovery
Too much angle
Reduce entry speed and counter-steer earlier.
Scoring at the expense of a checkpoint
Register the gate first; score without course progress does not help.
Event treated as baseline
The weekly multiplier remains separate from the unpublished universal rate.
