Contact Missions

A guide to GTA Online's permanent family of lobby-based Jobs, from classic calls by Lamar, Gerald, Simeon, Ron, Trevor, Lester and Martin to ordered story strands. The index separates classic missions, sequential strands and property-gated systems instead of collapsing them into an empty catch-all description.

Complete activity guide

The classic reward mechanism is officially confirmed: difficulty, duration and player count matter, but every mission has its own base and newer strands can use separate rules. This guide does not copy stale tables or heist/contract payouts.

Start here

Contact Missions

Start here

Most reliable route: Pause Menu → Online → Jobs → Play Job → Rockstar Created → Missions. Choose the contact or strand by name. Alternatively accept a text/invite or call an unlocked contact and choose Request Job; story strands begin at the marker, NPC or device identified in the index.

Access and requirements

Classic contacts unlock more missions as rank rises; they usually support solo or 1–4 players, with selected Jobs supporting up to 8. Ordered strands can require a rank, a prior mission, two players or an owned property. The lobby is the final authority for that Job.

If the start is missing

Check Rockstar Created rather than Community/Bookmarked, finish the Online tutorial and take the relevant contact's call. Enter yellow markers on foot and make sure another activity is not blocking them. If a story strand does not advance, host the previous step and wait for its save/call before changing session.

01 • First completion, step by step

First completion, step by step

  1. 01

    Unlock the first contact

    ACTION
Complete the GTA Online tutorial, receive the first texts and open the Rockstar Created Missions list. Start with a simple Gerald, Simeon or Lamar mission available at your rank.
    TIP
Choose a mission with no purchase gate and use Normal while learning armour, snacks and the quick menu.
    RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
A high-rank Job can appear through an invite without being available for you to host.
    HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
Join as a participant or return to the list and select a lower-rank mission; do not buy a property for a classic contact.
  2. 02

    Read the lobby

    ACTION
Check the minimum player count, difficulty, team lives, weather/time and personal-vehicle rules before pressing Play.
    TIP
Hard increases the reward but reduces the margin for error; learn a story step on a setting the team can control.
    RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
Launching a strand with too few players blocks the start or leaves key roles uncovered.
    HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
Return to matchmaking, enable Auto-Invite and fill the lobby before the vehicle screen.
  3. 03

    Brief the objective before moving

    ACTION
Read the first objective on the opening screen. One player drives or carries the objective while another covers; solo, clear a safe path before moving the vehicle/package.
    TIP
Use one simple rule: the objective carrier does not chase optional enemies, and cover does not drive away with the mission vehicle.
    RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
Destroying the mission vehicle, losing a protected NPC or abandoning a package can immediately fail the Job.
    HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
If the objective stalls, clear the area and use the replacement entry/vehicle shown by the HUD; on failure choose Quick Restart instead of Freemode.
  4. 04

    Execute the main objective

    ACTION
Follow the yellow route, remove only threats blocking the objective and watch for the instruction to change after each pickup, destruction or delivery.
    TIP
Preserve a team life for the final escape; use snacks and armour behind cover, not in the middle of the objective area.
    RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
Farming endless reinforcements delays the objective and may raise nominal pay, but hurts reward per minute and increases failure risk.
    HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
Return to the active marker or change approach; if a wave never ends, look for the marked target/NPC instead of more ordinary enemies.
  5. 05

    Deliver and lose pursuit

    ACTION
After completing the task preserve the required vehicle/package, lose the wanted level in side streets or a tunnel and place the entire objective inside the final marker.
    TIP
Do not call another vehicle while the HUD still requires a specific one; a passenger or package may not transfer automatically.
    RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
Abandoning the mission vehicle before the corona can leave the objective without a driver or block delivery.
    HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
Return to the marked vehicle, reposition it in the corona and wait for the instruction to change; if it was destroyed, use Quick Restart.
  6. 06

    Wait for the save

    ACTION
After Mission Passed wait for cash, RP/JP and the voting screen. In an ordered strand select the next named step or return to Freemode only after the save.
    TIP
Note which mission unlocked after completion; Request Job may later return a previously completed step.
    RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
Switching session before the save can suppress the next call or strand progression.
    HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
Wait for the save, call the contact again or host the completed step once more if the next marker still does not appear.

02 • Variants and mechanics

Variants and mechanics

Classic mission givers

Usually 1–4; selected Jobs up to 8

Phone: Lamar, Gerald, Simeon, Ron, Trevor, Lester or Martin; or Rockstar Created → Missions.

OBJECTIVE
Complete a standalone Job: recover/steal an objective, destroy marked assets, rescue an NPC or deliver a vehicle/package.
MECHANIC
Canonical family index: Lamar's Missions; Gerald's Missions; Simeon's Missions; Ron's Missions; Trevor's Missions; Lester's Missions; Martin Madrazo's Missions. More names unlock with rank, but usually do not form one mandatory story.
COMPLETION
Mission Passed after delivering or destroying the correct objective.
HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
If the objective is lost use Quick Restart; if a Job is missing, raise rank or join by invite instead of looking for a fictional start fee.

Lamar: Lowriders

2–4 • Rank 5

Meet Lamar at Benny's Original Motor Works and follow the strand in order.

OBJECTIVE
Complete the eight-mission gang-war strand, rotating driver, escort and assault roles.
MECHANIC
Index: Community Outreach; Slow and Low; It's a G Thing; Funeral Party; Lowrider Envy; Point and Shoot; Desperate Times Call For...; Peace Offerings. This is separate from classic Lamar's Missions.
COMPLETION
Mission Passed and the next step unlock; Peace Offerings closes the strand.
HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
If the next step is absent from Jobs, host the previous one from the LD marker and wait for Lamar's call.

Gerald: Last Play

1–4

Meet Gerald or select Last Play under Rockstar Created → Missions.

OBJECTIVE
Secure Gerald's drugs, evidence and deals across six linked standalone Jobs.
MECHANIC
Index: Make Ends Meat; Go Figure; Fast Peddling; Deal With It; Bad Companies; End Product. Each has its own objective; End Product is the story conclusion, not a universal finale with a shared cut.
COMPLETION
The correct goods/evidence reach the destination and Mission Passed appears.
HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
If the transport is destroyed use Quick Restart; do not try to replace a marked vehicle with a personal one.

Simeon: Premium Deluxe Repo Work

1–4

Enter Premium Deluxe Motorsport and use the marker in Simeon's office, or select the strand from Missions.

OBJECTIVE
Recover, secure, extinguish or destroy vehicles according to the selected assignment.
MECHANIC
Index: Blow Up IV; Under the Hammer; Sasquashed; Do You Even Lift?; GTA Today II; RV Nearly There?; Burn Rate; Simeonomics. Do not confuse them with the daily Export Requests list.
COMPLETION
Required cars reach the dealership/port or the destruction objective is confirmed.
HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
Drive a damaged delivery car carefully; after total destruction restart, because a random replacement will not satisfy the objective.

Martin and Dispatch Services

Classic 1–4; Dispatch 1–4

Request classic work by calling Martin; the six Dispatch Services have their own complete guide.

OBJECTIVE
Classic missions cover eliminations, evidence recovery and deliveries; Dispatch Services focus on six named execution assignments.
MECHANIC
Separated index: Martin Madrazo's Missions and Madrazo Dispatch Services (Dispatch I–VI). Do not double-count Dispatch as a new payout on this page.
COMPLETION
Mission Passed for that Job; Dispatch progression remains on its dedicated route.
HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
If you need a specific Dispatch, open the Madrazo Dispatch guide rather than using random Request Job.

Ordered story strands

By strand: solo/1–4 or 2 players

Use the relevant NPC/marker: Ms. Baker at the Casino, the captain aboard the Super Yacht, ULP at the U marker, or Franklin/Lamar after unlocking Short Trips.

OBJECTIVE
Complete the strand in order as host to unlock replay and story rewards.
MECHANIC
Index: Casino Story — Loose Cheng, House Keeping, Strong Arm Tactics, Play to Win, Bad Beat, Cashing Out; A Superyacht Life — Overboard, Salvage, All Hands, Icebreaker, Bon Voyage, D-Day; Operation Paper Trail — Intelligence, Counterintelligence, Extraction, Asset Seizure, Operation Paper Trail, Cleanup; Short Trips — Seed Capital, Fire It Up, OG Kush.
COMPLETION
The final strand mission records completion; replay may appear only after the full hosted sequence.
HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
If a step is locked, return to the dedicated marker and host the previous one instead of joining a random finale as a participant.

Asset-gated mission systems

System-dependent

Special Vehicle Work: CEO Office computer; Mobile Operations: MOC terminal; Client Jobs: Terrorbyte touchscreen; Project Overthrow: Avenger Operations Terminal.

OBJECTIVE
Complete the mission catalogue tied to the owned asset; this is not ordinary phone-based Request Job.
MECHANIC
Adjacent permanent-system index: Special Vehicle Work, Mobile Operations, Client Jobs and Project Overthrow. Ms. Baker's Casino Work and Mr. Faber Work also use their own calls/gates. They are shown as separate systems, not free classic contacts.
COMPLETION
The system screen records completion and offers the next assignment under its own rules.
HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
If the terminal does not show the Job, check the required module/organisation state and the relevant business onboarding guide.

Modern raids and stories with dedicated guides

Solo or team by activity

Use the dedicated marker, call or property rather than random Request Job.

OBJECTIVE
Follow the operation's full onboarding; this page only identifies the family boundary.
MECHANIC
Non-duplicated index: First Dose (Acid Lab guide); Last Dose (dedicated guide); Cluckin' Bell Farm Raid; Oscar Guzman Flies Again; KnoWay Out; Mr. Faber Work. Each strand has a distinct unlock and economy.
COMPLETION
Completion of the relevant finale or final strand step.
HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
If stuck, open the operation-specific guide; do not apply classic payout rules to its finale.

03 • Real roles / Strategies

Real roles i Strategies

Real roles

Host / progression owner

In an ordered strand, launches the correct step and waits for the unlock save. In classic Jobs, controls difficulty, lives and matchmaking.

Real roles

Objective driver

Drives the marked vehicle or escorts the NPC; does not abandon the objective for optional kills.

Real roles

Cover

Clears the route, handles pursuit and protects respawns. Solo, one player performs both roles sequentially.

SAFE FIRST RUN

Start with a classic solo-capable mission on Normal and one delivery objective. Once markers and Quick Restart are familiar, move to Last Play/Repo, then to strands that require ordered hosting.

ADVANCED

Build playlists from short compatible Jobs, assign roles before launch and complete the objective without idling for a maximum time percentage. A larger nominal payout after a longer Job need not improve reward per minute.

04 • Reward and economic status

Each Job has its own base • informational

Classic Contact Missions use their own mission base, difficulty, elapsed time and participant bonus; newer strands can follow separate rules. Rockstar does not publish one current table for the entire family, so this guide neither invents hourly income nor adds event multipliers.

GTA$GTA$ ≈ 20 × (300 + mission unlock rank) × time × difficulty × players

Observed range specific to this activity; variant, result, duration or completion condition selects the value within it. Event multipliers are excluded.

Bcommunity-reported
RPRP ≈ 9 × (100 + rank/2) × time × difficulty × targeting/players + action RP

The formula and roles apply to the stated settlement unit; event multipliers are excluded.

05 • Common mistakes and recovery

Common mistakes and recovery

Confusing Contact Missions with Contracts/heists

Classic missions pay each participant by Job rules; they do not use a shared finale pot or cuts.

Using random Request Job for a sequence

Host the first run from its dedicated marker/NPC and follow the indexed names in order.

Assuming every contact strand is solo

Check the lobby minimum; Lowriders and selected story strands require at least two players.

Copying one payout table

Use the mechanic description and Job screen; newer strands can bypass the classic time table.
