Stunt Races

Start here

Pause Menu → Online → Jobs → Play Job → Rockstar Created → Stunt Races. Choose a shorter course in a vehicle class you know.

Access and requirements

The host sets class, contact, catch-up, slipstream, weather and laps. The Job can supply a vehicle; owning one is not required to launch.

If the start is missing

Check the Stunt Races section under Rockstar Created. If a specific name suggested by a friend is absent, choose another permanent course in the family rather than chasing an event playlist.

01 • First completion, step by step

First completion, step by step

  1. 01

    Pick a readable course

    ACTION
Start with a short course in a normal car class without an extreme lap count.
    TIP
The lobby preview shows the broad shape, not every obstacle.
    RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
An overly fast vehicle makes first landings harder.
    HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
Use a stable Job vehicle or return to the lobby for a slower class.
  2. 02

    Confirm the rules

    ACTION
Check contact, slipstream, catch-up and lap count.
    TIP
Non-Contact lets you learn tubes and jumps without other players hitting you.
    RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
Contact in a narrow tube can cause a long fall.
    HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
After falling, respawn instead of trying to reach the stunt track from street level.
  3. 03

    Set up ramps and loops

    ACTION
Approach down the centre with straight wheels; keep smooth throttle through a loop.
    TIP
A small correction before the ramp is safer than steering heavily in the air.
    RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
A crooked entry throws the car off the side.
    HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
If the ramp approach is lost, lift and set up the next attempt rather than forcing the jump.
  4. 04

    Control the landing

    ACTION
Limit airborne corrections; level the car and align it with the next checkpoint.
    TIP
Let the suspension settle briefly after landing before full steering.
    RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
Landing sideways often chains into another mistake on the next obstacle.
    HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
Lift after a poor landing, recover a straight line and only then accelerate.
  5. 05

    Complete the full Job

    ACTION
Register every checkpoint, the finish and result screen; a temporary bonus does not change the driving rules.
    TIP
Use a second run to learn one troublesome segment.
    RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
Leaving after a fall but before the result screen does not count as completion.
    HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
Replay from the voting screen or choose a shorter course from the menu.

02 • Variants and mechanics

Variants and mechanics

Contact

1–30

Enabled in the lobby.

OBJECTIVE
Race with physical player collisions.
MECHANIC
Ramp position and distance from rivals become tactical.
COMPLETION
Finish after all checkpoints.
HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
After contact, avoid a violent counter-steer; stabilise before the next ramp.

Non-Contact

1–30

Host variant before launch.

OBJECTIVE
Complete the same course without player collisions.
MECHANIC
Clean lines and your own mistakes decide the run.
COMPLETION
Finish after the full course.
HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
Repeat the troublesome element; other players cannot push you off.

Tubes, loops and jumps

By Job

Elements are part of the selected course.

OBJECTIVE
Maintain speed and the centre line through to the next checkpoint.
MECHANIC
Each element needs a different balance of throttle and correction.
COMPLETION
Exit the element and register the next gate.
HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
Respawn after a long fall or when stuck; a quick reset beats losing many seconds without progress.

03 • Real roles / Strategies

Real roles i Strategies

Real roles

Host

Matches class, contact and length to the group and does not change the premise after players join.

Real roles

Racer

There is no artificial role split; each racer owns their line, checkpoints and finish.

SAFE FIRST RUN

Use Non-Contact, a stable car and a short course. Lift before a ramp if the line is not straight—losing a second is cheaper than a full respawn.

ADVANCED

Learn where lifting replaces braking, use small airborne corrections and plan slipstream before wide rather than narrow sections.

04 • Reward and economic status

Informational — no universal base rate

Cash and RP depend on the result and Job configuration. Rockstar does not publish one current base table, so this activity is informational rather than rankable.

GTA$Controller model: placing × players × time × Job override; default technical envelope GTA$100–54,810

Observed range specific to this activity; variant, result, duration or completion condition selects the value within it. Event multipliers are excluded.

Ccommunity-reported
RPController model: placing × players × time × rank × Job override; default technical envelope 100–10,810 RP

The formula and roles apply to the stated settlement unit; event multipliers are excluded.

05 • Common mistakes and recovery

Common mistakes and recovery

Steering on the ramp

Straighten before the ramp and make the correction earlier.

Full throttle after a crooked landing

Lift, straighten the wheels and then rebuild speed.

Waiting through a long fall

Use respawn when returning to the course is impossible.
