Cayo Treasure Chests

Start here

Own/use the Kosatka, launch The Cayo Perico Heist and choose Gather Intel from the planning screen. Once on the island, search 10 possible land spots and 9 underwater spots.

Access and requirements

Solo during the Gather Intel mission on all supported platforms. Requires host access to Cayo scoping; chests are unavailable in the finale or Los Santos Freemode.

If the start is missing

Confirm you are in Gather Intel rather than the finale or Beach Party. If one category was already collected today, search only for the other; after reset launch another scope run.

Launch Gather Intel
ACTION
At the Kosatka planning screen start/continue Cayo and choose the scope mission, then travel to the island.
TIP
Collect chests during normal primary-target intel to avoid a separate trip.
RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
Entering the finale removes free searching for chest locations.
HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
Return to Los Santos and relaunch Gather Intel; do not try to recover inside the finale.

Find the land chest
ACTION
Check the 10 island spots, listening for the cue and looking for a small wooden chest.
TIP
Combine spots with the communications-tower route and airport departure.
RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
Guards still matter during intel; entering a vision cone can end the attempt.
HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
Let the mission restart intel, return to the island and take a safer route to unchecked spots.

Open the land chest
ACTION
Approach and hold the prompt until $25,000 + 1,000 RP appears.
TIP
Confirm the payout before leaving; it has no separate heist-planning marker.
RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
Searching for another land chest that day yields no second reward.
HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
After collection switch the checklist to the underwater category.

Find the underwater chest
ACTION
Search the nine coves/coastal points, dive and look for the chest on the seabed.
TIP
Take a breath above the point and dive vertically rather than swimming underwater for long stretches.
RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
Running out of breath or straying too far from transport can interrupt the search.
HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
Surface, recover breath and return directly above the spot; an uncollected chest remains.

Open the underwater chest and finish
ACTION
Hold interact at the chest, confirm the second $25,000 + 1,000 RP and finish or leave Gather Intel according to the heist plan.
TIP
The full daily set totals $50,000 + 2,000 RP.
RISK / FAILURE CONDITION
Leaving before pickup confirmation may require another island trip.
HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN
Relaunch intel that day and return only for the missing category.

HOW TO RECOVER THE RUN: After an oxygen problem surface and return above the known spot.

Intel host

Launches Gather Intel and collects personal chests. Another player cannot replace the host's access or collect your daily limit.

SAFE FIRST RUN

Take the land chest during the normal intel route first, then check underwater points near a safe exit. Do not search in the finale.

ADVANCED

Fit the active points into the shortest airport–tower–cove loop and finish the intel objective immediately after the second pickup.

One payout belongs to the land category and the other to the underwater category. Required Cayo intel and random locations keep the reward outside sustainable hourly rankings.
