Scouted target selection

Vault targets — gross finale pool

  • A player's first hosted heist always has Cash. This is a separate first-run state, not a percentage for later repeats.
  • On repeats, Vault Contents randomly reveals Cash, Artwork or Gold. Rockstar does not publish current permanent weights, so the table does not invent a percentage split.
  • Diamonds are 0% outside an enabled event. When Rockstar enables them, availability and any weight follow that event's rules—the guide does not hard-code a current probability.
  • The host's per-activity state determines first-weekly finale eligibility; the increase covers every player. Unofficial partner rates are labelled separately in the model.

Complete step-by-step operation

OPERATIONS GUIDE V2DUO

Scope the casino and vault contents, choose one of three approaches, prepare the matching equipment and lead the crew from entry to the buyer handoff.

Start here

Exact requirements
  • After meeting Lester at Mirror Park, buy an Arcade through Maze Bank Foreclosures and complete its setup.
Purchase / contact / menu

Go to the underground planning area and launch casino scope-out from the first of the three boards.

Starting location

The basement of your Arcade.

Board or marker

The three Diamond Casino Heist planning boards.

Purchases not required
  • The Master Control Terminal, extra cabinets and private Arcade rooms are not required for the heist.

First run and replay

These are two persistent story instructions. They are not the finance calculator's weekly-variant switch.

01

First story playthrough

The first cycle requires Arcade setup, a full Scope Out Casino and discovery of entrances; identified access points remain recorded.

02

Story replay

On replay, scope the new Vault Contents and choose an approach other than the most recently used one; permanent access points do not need to be photographed again.

    finale

    The Diamond Casino Heist

Enter with the selected method, clear the vault and deliver the surviving take to the buyer.

Strategies that genuinely change the route

stealth

Silent & Sneaky

When
When stealth equipment is ready and the crew knows cameras and patrols.
Plan
Keep the alarm off from entry, synchronize dual readers and leave the vault before the gas.
Trade-off
A clean entry reduces exit pressure, but one unsynchronized takedown can break the plan.
disguise

The Big Con

When
When the selected entry and exit disguises have been prepared.
Plan
Do not draw weapons before the vault; after collecting the target, move together to the prepared exit disguise.
Trade-off
The easiest vault access depends on preserving cover and following the correct route.
forced entry

Aggressive

When
When breach gear, weapons and, if needed, Duggan Shipments are complete.
Plan
Push as one front, preserve armor for the retreat and loot only after the chamber is secure.
Trade-off
The alarm is part of the approach, so disorder costs health, vault time and retained take.

Plan for the selected team: DUO

Selected in the calculatorDUO for “The Diamond Casino Heist — complete flow”: Player A: Approach lead + Loot collector; Player B: Vault hacker + Escape lead.

Concrete roles

Player A: Approach lead + Loot collector

Maintains the selected entry rules and regroups the crew before the vault level. Assigns carts or artwork and ends collection before the gas.

Player B: Vault hacker + Escape lead

Handles terminals and calls the retreat against the hired hacker's time. Leads the move to disguises or vehicles, loses police and reaches the buyer.

Actions, risk and run recovery

  1. 01
    unlockArcade and planning board
    Action
The host buys an Arcade, completes its setup and launches the heist from the underground planning area; progress is tracked across its three boards.
    Tip
Finish the Arcade setup before hiring support crew.
    Risk / failure condition
Inactive boards block scope-out and approach selection.
    How to recover the run
Complete the setup mission and return to the basement.
  2. 02
    prep / preparationScope Out Casino
    Action
Photograph the main entrance and discover extra access points such as the roof, terrace, security tunnel, sewer and rear doors. Discovered access points remain available on later runs.
    Tip
Photograph the entrances, exits and security features that fit the plan.
    Risk / failure condition
An unscoped point will not appear as a finale option.
    How to recover the run
Return to Scope Out Casino and send Lester the missing photograph.
  3. 03
    prep / preparationVault Contents
    Action
Gain access to the casino camera network and identify the current vault contents. This scope mission reveals the target and unlocks approach selection.
    Tip
Identify the vault contents before choosing the hacker and collection plan.
    Risk / failure condition
A collection plan mismatched to the target wastes vault time.
    How to recover the run
Repeat the Vault Contents camera check and assign positions for the identified target.
  4. 04
    prep / preparationChoose an approach
    Action
Choose Silent & Sneaky, The Big Con or Aggressive. The approach determines entry, required gear, disguises and the vault-breach method; the most recently used method cannot be selected immediately again.
    Tip
Lock Silent & Sneaky, Big Con or Aggressive as one coherent route.
    Risk / failure condition
Mixing entrances and equipment from different approaches breaks the preparation plan.
    How to recover the run
Return to the second board and align entry, exit and equipment to one approach.
  5. 05
    prep / preparationSupport crew
    Action
Hire a gunman, driver and hacker. The gunman determines weapon sets, the driver getaway cars and the hacker vault time; stronger crew members take a larger cut.
    Tip
Match the hacker to vault time and the driver and gunman to the chosen escape.
    Risk / failure condition
A mismatched crew shortens the loot window or supplies unsuitable vehicles and weapons.
    How to recover the run
Before confirming, revise each specialist so their contribution matches the finale plan.
  6. 06
    prep / preparationMandatory preparations
    Action
Acquire unmarked weapons, getaway vehicles, the hacking device, vault keycards and the approach-specific equipment—such as disguises and drills, stealth hardware or explosive breach gear.
    Tip
Complete every mandatory board row before launching the finale.
    Risk / failure condition
Missing weapons, vehicles or the hacking device keeps the finale locked.
    How to recover the run
Open the missing row, finish the prep and check the third board again.
  7. 07
    prep / preparationOptional preparations
    Action
Prioritize Level 2 Security Passes. Patrol Routes and Security Intel improve awareness, Duggan Shipments weakens guards, and exit disguises help the Big Con crew leave the casino.
    Tip
Complete Level 2 Security Passes and consider Duggan Shipments and exit disguises for the selected route.
    Risk / failure condition
A skipped optional prep can add a difficult hack, armored guards or a harder exit.
    How to recover the run
Do not launch; complete the exact prep that removes the chosen approach's weakness.
  8. 08
    finaleEntry and security level
    Action
In the finale, follow the selected entrance and approach rules: avoid cameras in stealth, preserve the disguise in Big Con or fight inward on Aggressive. Regroup before descending to the vault.
    Tip
One player leads and restates the approach rule before each security zone.
    Risk / failure condition
Drawn weapons in Big Con or an unsynchronized stealth takedown triggers the alarm before the vault.
    How to recover the run
Regroup behind the last cover and continue as one push only if the approach remains viable.
  9. 09
    finaleVault corridor
    Action
Use the keycards simultaneously at the dual reader and complete the required hacks or door breach. Players who are not hacking should immediately position at the carts or artwork.
    Tip
Count down dual-reader interactions and activate both stations together.
    Risk / failure condition
A split crew leaves one player exposed in the vault corridor.
    How to recover the run
Bring both pairs back to the shared door, clear the corridor and retry on a single call.
  10. 10
    finaleCollect the target
    Action
Once the vault opens, divide the loot positions, open locked sections and collect only while enough exit time remains. Leave the chamber before the gas fully activates.
    Tip
Assign carts or artwork and stop collecting on the hacker's call.
    Risk / failure condition
Staying at the final position after gas starts costs health and retained take.
    How to recover the run
Abandon unfinished loot, regroup at the door and begin a shared retreat.
  11. 11
    finaleExit and buyer
    Action
Return by the selected route, use the prepared disguise or covering fire, reach the getaway vehicles, lose the police and only then deliver the remaining take to the chosen buyer.
    Tip
The escape lead takes everyone to disguises or vehicles before heading to the buyer.
    Risk / failure condition
Splitting vehicles or approaching the buyer while wanted exposes the full take.
    How to recover the run
Divert to the shared hiding route, lose the police and resume the delivery as one convoy.

Common mistakes

Mismatched approach

Consequence
A wrong hacker, entrance or missing Level 2 Security Passes cuts vault time or breaks the route before the finale.
Correction
Return to the approach board, complete the missing prep and reassign entry, exit and disguises.

Broken stealth or cover

Consequence
Premature weapons, a camera or an unsynchronized reader triggers resistance early and costs looting time.
Correction
If the approach remains viable, regroup behind cover and push as one front; otherwise restart before entering the vault.

Late vault retreat

Consequence
Staying for the last cart exposes the crew and reduces retained take on exit.
Correction
Abandon the unfinished position, regroup on the exit route and use the prepared disguise or shared covering fire.

Pre-launch checklist

  • Approach, entry, exit and hacker are agreed before the finale.

  • Everyone knows their reader, loot position and retreat call.

  • Lock the approach before hiring support and prepare its exact equipment.

  • At readers and cameras, one player calls timing while everyone else waits for the synchronized interaction.

  • The hacker calls the last safe moment and collectors leave before gas fills the chamber.

03

Expanded informational overview

Guide scopeThis section organizes the complete cycle: requirements, phases, figures and dependencies. The detailed operation flow is in the walkthrough above.

Activity formatMulti-stage heist for 2–4 players
Payout modelThe post-fee pool uses manually adjustable cuts. Rankings use the preset where the host takes the maximum and every partner gets 15%; only the host pays the setup cost.
Three planning variants

Silent & Sneaky, The Big Con and Aggressive change preparation scope, NPC crew cost and risk profile. The walkthrough maps preparations, roles and decision order for each variant.

04

How the full cycle works

This section complements the walkthrough with full-cycle dependencies: unlock, preparations, finale, settlement and the next available attempt.

01

Unlock

Base requirement: Arcade. Minimum entry cost is kept separate from the setup fee.

02

Plan configuration

Available approach, target, difficulty and team choices determine later costs and payout distribution.

03

Preparations

The model's full time includes required preparation; optional items trade extra time for a safer run.

04

Finale

The result depends on target or pool value, participant count, possible losses and bonus conditions.

05

Settlement and replay

After deductions, the pool is distributed using the payout model. Group heists have a 48 min wait after the finale.

05

What affects the result

Target value

The min–typical–max range accounts for a variable target, loot or difficulty where applicable.

Setup cost

The setup fee is deducted before the net result is calculated.

Cuts and NPC crew

Player count and NPC crew fees can change the host and each partner's payout.

Complete cycle time

The model compares 1 hr 10 min / 1 hr 35 min / 2 hrs 25 min, not the finale alone.

Main strengths

  • High payout per completed cycle.
  • Clear split between preparation, finale and settlement.

Constraints

  • Entry and setup costs reduce the first return.
  • The result depends on team size, cuts and cooldown.
